This horn-driven Northern Michigan band's influences run deep, with a collection of original songs and select covers that blend Rock, Funk, Jazz, Americana, Hip Hop, Motown, and World Beat into a unique and infectious sound. Or, as one listener put it, ‘‘They simultaneously sound like nothing I've ever heard before and something I've been listening to my entire life.’’ As they continue to add new venues to their itinerary and to write new music, Thelonious Getdown has also begun work on a self-produced debut CD to be released in late 2008.
